The black car reached the Varkos gates shortly after noon.
It bore no family crest. The silver insignia on its door was more powerful than one—the crowned scales of the Royal Commission for Pack Affairs.
The guards opened the gates before the car came to a complete stop.
Celeste stepped out wearing a dark fitted suit, followed by a commission clerk carrying two locked cases. She was not an Alpha or Luna, but she did not need either title.
As Crown Commissioner for Pack Affairs, she investigated abuse of authority within regional packs. And now that my marriage was under royal review, Kaelen could not legally deny her access to me.
