Let Justice Speak

1986 Words

The massive iron gates of Nightshade Castle creaked open as the sun hovered just above the horizon, casting a burnished glow over the grand courtyard. Banners flapped, guards stood to attention, and the royal trumpets sang a sharp tune announcing their arrival. River’s heart beat like a drum beneath her ribs. Heiko, tall and composed, came out first, then reached for her hand, helping her down with a strength that grounded her. And then the crowd parted—and King Paul himself emerged. Clad in deep violet royal robes with golden thread sewn along the cuffs and collar, the king looked every inch the seasoned ruler—his face weathered with age but lit with pure joy as he locked eyes on his son. “Heiko!” he bellowed, striding forward like a storm with a smile stretched wide across his face.
