I hit her. I f*****g hit her. I hadn’t meant to. I didn’t know she was behind me, but I did. She’s been crying the entire drive home, and if this is from the pain, I’ve probably broken something in her face. I need to get Dante home and then take her to the ER, though I have no clue what story I can come up with where a nurse won’t think that I hit her, even though that’s exactly what the f**k happened.
We pull into the drive, and Dante hops out, opening the door for her. I see him smile as he hands the tiny shorts to her. She laughs, but then it just makes her cry even more.
“It’s alright, Reils,” Dante says, putting his arm around her. He looks at me clearly, as worried as I am. He must be wondering if she’s hurt badly, too.
