Joseph's POV. Feelings of great disappointment, anger, and betrayal rose up inside me as I stood on the boundary of my hometown. It looked so peaceful, with its neatly kept gardens and quiet streets. The houses all had lights on in them, and I wondered what my former pack members were up to. Were they enjoying a nice family dinner? Perhaps they were sitting around the table playing board games. Some parents were probably tucking their small children in for the night and reading them a nice bedtime story. They were all probably thinking that they had perfect, happy lives.
