Three more days had come and gone. It was still raining relentlessly, and the temperatures had plummeted into the single digit range.
I missed the compound desperately. I longed to be back in the clinic, learning from and working with Alice and Melody. I missed Shaun. I wanted to see him so much. I wanted to look into his eyes. I wanted to hear his voice again.
I kept thinking about the last text message that I sent him. I told him that we needed to talk. We never got the chance.
