I shut down my phone once I was done with my call with Elias. It wasn't a decision I made lightly. I knew the pack dinner was over since Elias had called, meaning my parents were next, and I knew that if I answered, I wouldn't be able to lie. Lying to Elias had been easy but lying to my parents was a whole different thing. I couldn't let that happen. Not tonight.
Caiden was in the hallway when I opened the door. He was sitting on the floor, his back against the wall and he straightened the moment he saw me.
