I had not even run ten steps before the pain hit. It was like nothing I had ever felt before. One moment I was running with my arms full of my orientation documents, still wrapping my head around what had happened and the next I couldn't breathe. The pain was everywhere, my ribs, my head, even down to my fingertips and the best I could do was drop to my knees on the ground, gasping for air. I was trying, but my lungs were not taking anything in and I felt like I was choking on nothing.
