Lily
I must have been out for a few seconds because what brought me back were Vanya’s screams and the sound of people talking around me.
My ribs were on fire. I couldn’t see, and my chest felt so tight I could barely breathe.
Then I heard voices around me.
“Someone get a teacher!”
“Is she choking?”
“She just dropped!”
“Lily! Lily, okay, okay, I've got you.” That was Thea. Her voice was close and very frightened. I felt her hands on my shoulders as she tried to roll me over. I wanted to tell her that rolling me over wasn't going to help, that there was a very specific thing that would help and it wasn't her, but I didn't have the air.
