Seeing Isobel, Caitlin, and Kira after two months of being away from them feels like what it would be like if I went that long without seeing my family. After hugging each other tightly and telling each other how much we missed each other, we fall right into easy, casual conversation.
“So, Jude says you haven’t found your mate yet,” I say to Isobel as we drive to Yorick and Cyra’s pack.
“Unfortunately, no. I’m hoping I’ll meet him out here. Dad took me to several packs out west, but he’s not in any of our allied packs back home,” she says.
“Would you be okay moving here?” I ask.
She shrugs. “Jude’s here. You’re here, and Kira is determined to make it into the Academy, so she’ll be here in a couple of years.”
