I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t worried about Wendy spending the night with Hijack out in the wild. I don’t think that she’d snuggle up with him the way she did with me, especially since she and I are dating, but I also know that she probably won’t sleep if she doesn’t. Wendy isn’t used to sleeping in the wild, out of a bed, or away from someone that she feels safe with. I’m just not sure if Hijack counts as one of those people she feels safe with.
So, first thing in the morning when Luna Yara, now Sanatrix, comes to see me, I tell her I’m better and ready to get back in the field.
She turns and looks at me.
“Jude, do I tell you how to do your job?” she asks me.
I frown. “No, Luna.”
“Exactly. I would appreciate the same level of respect from you.”
I open my mouth, but no words
