My smile slowly transformed into a deep frown as soon as I saw Samantha. She came to me and hugged me tightly.

I ignored her and searched behind her instead. Shouldn't Bright and Ben be here? What is this wench doing here instead?
I went back in leaving Samantha out there. She opened the door and came in after me. "Why won't you respond to me, Carl?"
I hissed and went back to my seat.
"Were you expecting someone?" Her question was like a knife thrown directly at my heart.
I know she was taunting me. She must have heard of Katherina's disappearance.
