{Carl} "We're leaving?" Jayden repeated Katherina's words. His eyes stared from me to Katherina. "Yes, Jay, we have to leave," Katherina concurred. "But why?" I watched as my son's voice cracked, he seemed like he was about to burst into tears. I don't blame him though. After all, he grew up here. Everything and everyone he knew was there. "Because your father is here to take us," Katherina relayed. She sounded the same way when she had first broken the news to the children. Even though I feel like the happiest man on earth right now. Usually, I should be mad at Katherina for keeping me away from my children for such a long time, but I know that I can't blame her, not when I have been an asshole. I hurt my wife and got punished for it. "Dad?" Jayden eyed me with disbelief.
