"Hey man, how are you holding up?" Tony opened the door to my cabin and flashed a toothy smile.
I didn't respond.
Tony came in and sat before me. He scanned my face as if he was in search of something. "Looks okay, but not good."
I knew what he was talking about but I don't care how I look right now. As it is, I already outdid myself by coming to the office.
I try to bury myself with work, but it doesn't work. I keep seeing her face.
The way she looked stunned to see me behave so wrongly with her.
Her look of surprise and amazement still lingers in my mind. Every time I think about her all I see is that look. How disappointed she looked when I acted like a beast to her.
Her face haunts me every time; reminding me of the gravity of my offense.
