I was in the Royal clinic for days, my body healing a little bit more every day.
And even though I had to stay in my room, and in my bed, it wasn’t boring.
Because Claire was there.
But it wasn’t Claire anymore.
It was Mom.
It made me feel all wriggly on the inside with happiness every time I remembered I could call her that now.
At least in private.
That was something she and Dad made very clear from the moment I realized who she reall was.
She was “Claire” or “Princess” in public, and “Mom” in private.
I was still confused about why, but that didn’t matter just then. What mattered was that I was feeling better and better. And I got to see my mother every single day.
