Chapter 18
Dinner at Sarah and Carter’s went smoothly. After eating, the men moved out to the backyard to hang out, while the women stayed gathered inside around the kitchen.
“Oh my goddess, I am so full,” Arden groaned, leaning back and resting a hand on her stomach.
“I didn’t think a Phoenix could have such a massive appetite,” Allie teased.
“I usually don’t, but the food was just that good,” Arden answered.
Sarah beamed, her chest swelling with pride. “That makes me feel so good! I’m honestly just glad you guys enjoyed everything.”
“I’m just bummed there aren’t any leftovers for us to take home. Our fridge is empty,” Candy said, staring longingly at the cleared-out aluminum pans.
“Your house is always empty,” Margot snickered.
“Hey, hey, not cool,” Candy retorted, pointing a fin
