“I need to call Candy and warn her,” Poseidon mumbled, hastily pulling out his phone.
He dialed her number, but after a single silent second, it went straight to voicemail. “What?” Poseidon stared at the screen in utter bewilderment. It was practically unheard of for Candy to put her phone on vibrate or silent, let alone turn it off completely. He hit redial, but was met with the same result. “It’s going straight to voicemail.”
“Call her parents,” Mikey suggested immediately. Poseidon nodded and selected Laura’s contact, holding the phone to his ear. Instead of ringing, he was met with a harsh, repeating busy tone.
