“I don’t get it, Percy,” Candy began, her voice hoarse. Having finally calmed down enough to speak after mourning their lost pup, she realized Poseidon was sitting right in front of her—instead of off somewhere with Raelynn. It left her wondering what she had missed.

“How are you here? I thought you agreed to meet Raelynn.”
