“Your sister contacted you?” Candy asked, her eyes wide with utter shock.
Poseidon nodded silently, his expression grim.
When he had first walked through the front door after work that evening, he hadn’t even cared when he saw a dozen overflowing shopping bags scattered across the living room floor. Usually, he would have teased her about it, but he was still reeling from the shock of the day. The fact that his little sister had managed to reach him through an encrypted email that his company’s state-of-the-art firewall couldn’t even intercept was mind-boggling. It still brought a strange, lingering sense of brotherly pride, but the dark reality of the email's contents completely overshadowed it.
