Colby My mind wasn't in the room; it was far off, consumed by thoughts of my mom. Lately, I'd been missing her so much. Memories of her flooded my mind, and it felt like it was just yesterday that I was seven years old, crying and trying to follow her. "Mom, mom!" I wailed, my little legs moving as fast as they could to catch up with her. But she seemed to be moving farther and farther away, her feet carrying her swiftly toward the waiting car. I ran until my legs couldn't carry me anymore, my breath coming in ragged gasps. "Please don't go!" I begged, but she didn't look back. The car door closed behind her, and she was gone.
