Isla’s POV The taxi drops me a block away from the entrance. I don’t ask why. I just pay, step out, and watch the red taillights disappear down the street like I was never meant to be seen arriving here in the first place. The air is cooler underground. Damp. It smells like oil and old concrete and something metallic that sticks to the back of my throat. The ‘Hollow Grove’ private lot doesn’t look like much from the outside—just another reinforced slope disappearing beneath an unremarkable building—but the moment I step inside, the sound changes. Every footstep echoes. I pull the folded paper from my pocket again, even though I’ve already memorized it.
