The fifteen warriors charge through the tree line. Attack the Moonridge patrols. Teeth and claws tearing into them.
I stay back. Human form. Can't shift anymore. Varek is gone.
But I can still fight. Still kill.
The Moonridge warriors shift. Fight back. The mind link must be going crazy. Everyone calling for backup.
Good. Let them come.
I move through the trees. Stay low. Use the fighting as cover.
The warriors are doing their job. Drawing attention. Creating chaos.
I slip past the first line of defense. Keep moving toward the pack house.
Behind me the fighting gets worse. More howls. More blood. The sound of teeth and claws tearing into flesh.
But I don't look back. Don't care about them. Don't care if they die.
All I care about is find
