Lumi’s POV
A few minutes later, he comes back. I don’t hear him at first, I just felt him. That quiet shift in the air, like the room adjusts around him.
“Stand up,” Briggs says.
I blink, pushing myself off the edge of the bed.
“Why?”
He doesn’t answer, just watches me. And for some reason…I listen. I stood up, and he takes my hand, not tightly. Just enough pressure to guide me.
We walk down the hall in silence, the soft glow of the lights brushing against the walls, until he stops at a door and pushes it open. The bathroom.
