Lumi’s POV My lips part, the word is already there, sitting on my tongue. Waiting. “Yes.” It comes out softer than I expected, but I don’t break eye contact. Because if I’m saying yes, I’m not going to make it easy for him. I tilt my head slightly. “But don’t think that fixes your rating.” A faint smirk touches his lips. “Still a three?” he murmurs. “Maybe a two,” I reply, shrugging lightly. “You didn’t even try last time.” That lands, I see it in the way his jaw tightens slightly. Not offended, more like he felt challenged. “Careful,” he says quietly. “Or what?” A beat. “Or you might not be able to walk upstairs after this.” My stomach flips hard, and before I can respond he moves fast. His hand slides to the back of my neck pulling me in, and then his lips crash into mine.
