Briggs’ POV I don’t remember falling asleep. One second, I’m in the living room, grabbing water, trying to cool down after the longest night I’ve had in a while, and the next—I’m waking up. The early morning sun is creeping through the glass windows, sharp and intrusive, landing directly across my face like it has a personal issue with me. I blink once, twice. “…shit.” My body reacts before my mind fully catches up. I sit up immediately, running a hand over my face, the events from last night snapping back into place one after the other. Her, the balcony, the way she said my name.
