It’s been a few days now, and while Layla seems to be adjusting well, I want to check on her- without Andrew. That boy has become a mouthpiece for her, and I’m starting to wonder if that’s what she even wants.
I asked her to meet me for lunch today. She seems nervous around us, so I hope that being in a relaxed setting will put her at ease. We’re the royal family, but we’re also her family, and it’s important to me that she understands that.
“Thanks for meeting with me. Every time I see you, Andrew is there,” I laugh, trying to lighten the mood. “I just want to make sure that you’re doing ok.”
She nods and smiles, but it doesn’t meet her eyes. She pulls a phone from her pocket and begins typing, turning to show me.
