This may be a bad idea, but I don’t want to go alone. I certainly can’t take Laylah with me, because I need some distance between us. I need to figure out what I’m going to do.
Liam agreed to join me, but he looks nervous. “Are you sure I’m dressed ok?”
I look at him in his slacks and suit jacket. I should probably change from my shorts and hoodie so he doesn’t feel overdressed. Grandma Audrey will love it.
“You’re fine,” I grumble, getting up to walk to my closet. “Where do they have you living?”
“A floor up for now,” he says. “Queen Molly said they’re working on construction for something new, and it’s just temporary.”
“I’m surprised they let you live alone, but you haven’t been in trouble for sneaking out like I have,” I shrug.
