-Andrew- The door to the apartment swings open, slamming into the wall behind. Uncle Calvin comes around the corner and looks terrified, but when his eyes land on Aunt Ada, he comes straight toward us. I don’t think anything could ever get in his way of getting to her. I quickly move, letting him take her. She crawls onto his lap, completely melting into him. She’s been sobbing and shaking since I woke her, but now that Uncle Calvin is here, she’s starting to calm down. Dad’s standing at the end of the hall, watching them, too. I don’t know what to do, but I am sure I don’t need to stay with them, so I walk to Dad. He looks exhausted. “Go to sleep. I’ll keep an eye on everyone, I swear. I won’t do anything tonight,” I whisper. He gives me a half grin, his eyes barely open.
