I’ve never gotten into the grove more quickly than I just did. Laylah decided to turn around, and now I’m terrified that she’ll change her mind. I quickly wipe myself down with the towel, worried that some of the pollen may come off onto her, and pull my shorts on.
“Your turn,” I call out. “If you have any problems, link me. I’m right here to walk you through it.”
And with that, I turn around. I feel nervous and giddy and… I don’t even know what I feel. I wait, and wait, and wait. I barely hear when she touches the water, and I’m worried she didn’t wash enough off, but I also don’t want her to feel stupid by asking if she did.
I’m about to link her to ask if she’s alright when I feel a hand on my shoulder. That wasn’t as scary as I thought it would be.
