My heart feels like it's going to pound out of my chest. How is this possible? My body moves before I can think better of it. Strong arms wrap around me like I'm about to disappear. The intense tingles have my knees nearly buckling. Arden buries his face in my neck and sniffs deep. He just smelled me. Did he know I was his beloved before I stepped into this room? Why the hell did he not say anything?
"Vanessa, you remember Arden, my Beta," Thorn says, teasingly. Arden growls at him and my eyes go wide. He just growled at the man that is to be the future king. "I'll give you two some privacy to talk, but do not complete your mating in my office," Thorn says. I feel heat climb up my cheeks as Thorn makes his way toward the door.
