***Ares*** It isn’t an unfamiliar thing, the way Ophelia nuzzles my neck — but the way she is doing it right now, just feels different. There’s triumph in her now, a certainty that wasn’t there before. The way she moves carries absolute conviction; this is something she knows she can finally see through. She is blended now, and I know there’s nothing Ophelia wants more — in this world or our own — than to mark me as her chosen mate. A fact that still dizzies me, in all honesty. I have heard enough in lectures, and from the Lycans that were now in my life, to understand what this means to a Lycan. It is perhaps the greatest honour I could receive, offered in the strangest of ways. While she has her nose buried in my neck, I can feel the strange new way her altered blood is taking hold
