Cheryl’s POV
I woke up alone and scared. I cannot see Kevin, and there is a tube in my throat. I pressed the button for a nurse, and one came quickly to me. She could see the panic in my eyes and spoke to me in a calm tone. “You are going to be fine. Your son will be back soon, and we just moved this bed in here for him to be able to stay with you here.” I glanced over to where she motioned and was glad to see that she was telling the truth, if he wasn’t coming back, they would not have put it in here with me. This room is huge and I glanced around it again, this time with less panic. “I will go get the doctor for you now, just stay calm, and he will explain everything to you, OK,” she said, and I nodded at her, and appreciated how kind she was to me.
