My sister, Beth, and I, Ben, grew up in a loving house. Unlike in many other families, Beth and I got along very well together. I was older than her by 2 years and felt my duty was to teach, help, and protect her when needed. I guess this mature attitude was engraved in my mind by my our loving parents. I loved Beth even when, as a child, her teeth were crooked, her nose was too long, and her hair was messy most of the time. She appreciated, or even admired me, for assisting with her homework, fixing her broken toys, and more importantly, saving her butt when she screwed up.
