Megan saw me at about the same moment; it was her screech and frantic writhing in the chair which apprised her... friend a couple of seconds later. The young lady -- beyond the smeared make-up and a film of Megan's fluids anointing her face, she was very attractive - released a scream of her own, before leaping to her feet and swerving around me as she bolted for the door.
I heard the front door slam and through the window saw her running towards that Fiat, while Megan continued to struggle within the chair. Supine in the fully reclined seat and with feet hooked over the chair's arms, Megan couldn't get sufficient purchase to pull herself upright; her right hand scrabbled blindly for the chair's control pad, but I grasped it first.
