Morning came sooner than I expected. The first thing I did was look toward Isla. She was still asleep beside me, her breathing calm and steady. I hoped yesterday had given her enough rest for what lay ahead.
I slipped out of bed without waking her. After dressing, I stepped quietly out of our quarters and made my way through the pack house. Warriors were already at their assigned posts, and everyone moved with purpose. They all knew the Eastern Council would arrive today.
A quiet knock stopped me before I reached the front entrance. Raith approached and inclined his head respectfully. "Our scouts reported that the Eastern Council crossed into Wraithbone a short while ago. They should reach the pack house within the hour."
I nodded once.
