Two days later, Sera finally gave me permission to travel. I expected another argument, but she checked the wound and told me it had healed enough. Vorak was back to himself, which mattered just as much. Isla looked more relieved than I was.
"You are still recovering," Sera said. "If the pain returns, you rest."
"I understand."
Sera looked at Isla. "Make sure he does."
"I will."
Zeron, Raith, and Lira were waiting outside when we were ready. Several guards had already prepared the vehicles that would take us to the airfield. Lyrienne joined us carrying less than Isla despite everything Isla had packed. I wasn't going to point that out again.
"Everything is covered here," Zeron said. "Halvon has guards with him at all times."
