I'd known something like this was coming. Not tonight specifically. But I'd known since Sera came to my office and told me what Isla had described, since I'd watched small things shift in her over time and felt something change in the bond without being able to name it clearly. What I hadn't known was what it would feel like when it finally arrived. What Vorak would do with it. What it would cost me to hold him through it.
That part I hadn't been prepared for.
