I woke before Caius the next morning. For a few seconds, I couldn't remember where we were, then I saw Darius's pendant beside the bed. Everything from Ravenspire returned at once. I reached for the pendant and closed my fingers around it.
I felt better than I had the night before. The exhaustion was gone, and my stomach wasn't bothering me anymore. I decided traveling had simply caught up with me. There was no reason to make more of it.
Caius woke while I was getting dressed. "How do you feel?" His eyes followed me across the room. "Any nausea?"
