The bell sounded again before Caius reached the door. Warriors were already running through the corridor, calling to one another as every entrance was closed. Caius kept hold of my hand as we moved out of the room. Sorin and Pryor followed behind us.
"Stay with me," Caius said. "Until we know where Halvon is." He looked toward Zeron as he returned from the other end of the corridor. "Which gate?"
"Western," Zeron answered. "Someone tried to open it from inside." He stopped in front of Caius. "The guards stopped them before it opened."
My thoughts went immediately to Halvon's two men. They had remained under watch since Halvon was confined. If one of them had tried reaching the gate, the other could be somewhere else. Halvon had planned this before Sorin arrived.
