His fingers hovered over the screen, swiping through them quickly, when one message caught his attention; Bella. A sudden spike of curiosity filled him as he opened the message, but before he could read it, his phone died, the screen going black in his hand. “Damn it!” he cursed aloud, frustrated. He looked around for a charger, but before he could make a move, his father appeared again, his face serious. “It’s time, Asher. We need to move. Now.” Frustrated but with no choice, Asher dropped his dead phone back onto the table and followed his father outside. The air outside was cooler, and as they approached the forest clearing, the energy of the night seemed to intensify.
