And in the middle of it all, completely unnoticed, Kaius and Raya slipped through the shadows. She could hear their ragged breaths, the sounds of fists colliding with fur, the roars of angry bears, but she forced herself to tune it out. There was no time to gloat. No time to get cocky. The moment Prince Andy and his group had dropped their bags to scramble for weapons or shift, she and Kaius moved in. Kaius grabbed three of the four backpacks—he was fast—his muscles flexing as he threw them over his shoulder. Raya snatched the last one, her hands moving quickly as she slipped her fingers into pockets, grabbing maps, notes, anything that looked important.
