Kaius said nothing, simply observing as he polished off the last of his plate.
When they were both done, he finally broke the silence.
"I’m Kaius," he said, his tone measured.
For a moment, he thought she might ignore him.
But then, after a slight hesitation, she finally replied.
"I am … Dahlia."
Kaius noticed the way her body tensed as she spoke, as if saying her name out loud was somehow a risk. But her expression remained composed, her tone carefully neutral.
