The little dot with Sarah's picture was just west of Grand Rapids on I-196. I showed it to Heidi. "Wow, that's far. Is it farther than to Aunt Susie's?"
"A lot farther, sweetie. She'll be home by dinner time."
We checked Sarah's progress every hour or so. She wasn't making great time. The storms that were still popping up occasionally here were just the southern tip of a huge system, the worst of which was pushing right through where Sarah was driving. At four o'clock she was still north of Kokomo.
"Thank you for the tea, Milady." I brought the pink plastic cup to my lips and pretended to take a sip. "But I must retire to the kitchen to prepare her ladyship's dinner."
