Reacting to the alarm bells, he jumped up from the couch before declaring, "Remy it's time for bed. I am tired, you are a bit drunk, and this is getting out of hand."
Instead of protesting, like he half expected, Remy got quietly up from the couch, floating past him without a word.
His heart sank at this terrible ending to what had been, up to then anyways, a simply wonderful night. When she reached the foot of the stairs she paused, before turning back to stare at him. A dark look crossed over her face before she snapped, "Since you made it abundantly clear my kisses are no longer welcome I won't bother even asking for a goodnight kiss... or nothing every again."
Turning, she started to stomp up the stairs but before she was halfway up fate intervened.
