"Anybody home?" I call out from the living room. Mom and Maggie come down the hall, both of them dressed, but still flush from their lovemaking. "What have you two been doing all day?" I ask.
"Oh we went shopping." Mom says, smiling at Maggie.
"And just hung out." Maggie says, laughing at what is suppose to be an inside joke. "What about you? How was your day?" Maggie asks.
"Great!" I say. "I had a good day." I answer, heading into the kitchen for a coke. Maggie follows me.
"Did you see your dad?" She whispers.
"Yes, I need to talk to you." I whisper back. "Did you know he has a transmitter?"
"No!" She whispers. "Call me tomorrow." She says, leaving the kitchen with a diet coke in her hand.
