I'm sitting at my desk, reviewing some reports Howard left me early this morning. His return to the company has been… curious. Efficient, as always, but now there's something more to the way he works. As if he needs to prove, more than ever, that he deserves to be here.
And I don't blame him; I brought it on myself.
I gently press my lips together as I turn the page of the document. There are still things to adjust, details to finalize, but for the first time in a long time… I feel like everything is in order.
