As soon as I heard the elevator stop at my floor, I ran to the door… I didn't have to wait long, just three sharp knocks.

I opened it immediately.
"Dad!"
The moment I saw him, I threw myself at him like a terrified child.
My arms wrapped around his neck, and I burst into tears.
He held me for barely a second.
"What happened?"
"You have to help me…"

I shook my head desperately.
"Please… come in."
I stepped aside. He crossed the threshold, still not understanding why I had called him so urgently. I closed the door behind us.
