I arrive at the office earlier than usual.
The building is still in that in-between state between absolute silence and the beginning of the organized chaos that the workday brings. The lights in some hallways are on, but most of the desks are still empty. I like this moment… there’s something about it that allows me to think clearly.
I put my bag on the desk, take a seat, and exhale slowly… Tuesday, Tuesday to move forward. Tuesday to get back into the swing of things after a few… different days. Days in which my world revolved around Ethan, around us, around what we’re building again.
A slight smile appears on my lips at the memory.
I gently shake my head and force myself to concentrate.
I open the pending documents, review figures, notes, corrections.
