I was supposed to feel bad and try to protect my friendship with Sera but I didn’t.
Maybe that is going to make me heartless, but I’d spent too long living in Sera’s shadow, letting her choose how I lived, how I breathed, even who I should love, it's not happening this time.
“Sera,” I said, folding my arms with my eyes squinting softly, “You don’t have to panic about anything or call me names, you can have Zeph if you want to, I’m not fighting over him or dragging him for a competition.”
