I was getting ready to go on duty at the pack prison where I was doing the night shift as a guard. We had a few prisoners there at the moment so they needed a guard there at all times.
Most of the prisoners weren’t dangerous, but a couple of them had committed horrible crimes and were waiting to go on trial. The others were just being held there to teach them a lesson.
I liked doing the night shift at the prison. It was quiet and peaceful and I got to catch up on my school work to become a lawyer.
Not many people understand why I wanted to be a lawyer and it was a huge leap from being a warrior and guard to a lawyer. But I was determined to make that leap. And I was studying hard for it.
