“Get out!” I yelled at Sierra, my voice cracking from the burn crawling up my skin. “Leave here… I don’t want you near me or Adrain!”
Sierra blinked, completely calm, like she hadn’t just seen me losing my mind. “What do you mean?” she asked, stepping forward.
“No! Don’t come near me.” I pointed at her with a shaky hand, my other one still scratching my neck, then my ear. “You’re not normal. You’re something else…”
“Rowena! Stop this madness right now!” Adrain snapped. He grabbed both my hands and held them tightly, stopping me from scratching. “What the hell is wrong with you? What is it about Sierra that’s making you act like this? Or wait—should I assume this is another stupid attempt to stop me from talking to her?”
